Wendi McLendon-Covey might have been absent from the Oscars, but she's proving that beauty comes with a price—and a recovery period. The actress took to Instagram to explain her absence from the much-anticipated Bridesmaids reunion at the 2026 Academy Awards.

While her co-stars Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper gathered on stage to mark the comedy's 15th anniversary, McLendon-Covey was recovering from a neck lift procedure. She humorously noted she was "tired of looking like a melting candle," dispelling any rumors of behind-the-scenes drama.

The actress, who played Rita in Paul Feig's hit film, shared a selfie with gauze wrapped around her head and chin, assuring fans that "everything is fine" and there was "no drama." Her candid post quickly garnered well-wishes from followers in the comments.

At the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the Bridesmaids cast presented the Oscar for Best Original Score, with Wiig joking about the film's age. The reunion took a humorous turn when the stars read notes from the audience, including one from Stellan Skarsgård complimenting their aging and another from Leonardo DiCaprio teasing Byrne about excessive eye contact.

Byrne, nominated for Best Actress for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, played along with the lighthearted moment, apologizing to DiCaprio for the mix-up. The event highlighted the enduring charm and camaraderie of the Bridesmaids ensemble, even with one member missing due to a very personal reason.
