Forget Sharknado—Netflix is unleashing a whole new level of aquatic terror with Thrash, the upcoming thriller that drops on April 10. Directed by Tommy Wirkola and produced by Adam McKay, this film throws terrified coastal residents into a nightmare scenario: a Category 5 hurricane that unleashes deadly sharks, creating a perfect storm of chaos and carnage.

In the just-released trailer, Djimon Hounsou delivers a chilling warning: "Sharks on the loose in the Category 5 storm. Let’s move!" The star-studded cast features Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor as a heavily pregnant woman who must confront flooding, killer sharks, and impending childbirth all at once. Her defiant line in the trailer, "I am not going to have him die before he takes his first breath," amps up the tension to heart-pounding levels.

Joining Dynevor are Whitney Peak, Matt Nable, Andrew Lees, Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen, Elijah Ungvary, and Dante Ubaldi. Originally titled Beneath the Storm and later Shiver, the project started at Sony Pictures before Netflix scooped it up earlier this year through a first-look deal for streaming projects, signaling high expectations for this genre-bending thriller.

Dynevor shared her enthusiasm with Collider last year, saying, "I’m so excited about this movie. It’s big. It’s sharks. It’s hurricanes. It’s all of those things, and I’m a nine-month pregnant lady who has to go through a lot in those 24 hours. It's a fun one." By blending natural disaster elements with survival horror, Thrash promises to deliver a non-stop, edge-of-your-seat experience that could redefine the shark thriller genre.
