In a heart-wrenching appeal that has gripped the nation, Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie has broken her silence on the mysterious disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, in Arizona—a case that authorities now suspect involves foul play.
"We hold faith in prayer. We believe in voices united in love and hope. We trust in goodness and humanity. Most importantly, we believe in Him," Guthrie wrote in a raw, emotional statement released late Monday, sharing an image with the words "Please pray." She added, "We are grateful for your prayers joining ours for our cherished mom, our dear Nancy—a woman of strong principles and unwavering devotion. Please join us in prayer and share our belief that she will feel uplifted by them right now. We truly need your support."
Guthrie concluded with a biblical reference, stating, "He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord," and emphasized, "Bring her home."

The search for Nancy Guthrie has intensified after chilling details emerged from the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Nancy was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in Tucson. A church friend reported her absence from services the next day, prompting the family to alert authorities.
By Monday, Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed a grim suspicion: "Sheriff Nanos has indicated he believes a crime occurred," a public information officer told TheEntBase. "Investigators currently think she was forcibly removed from her home, likely during the night. This could involve kidnapping or abduction."
Adding to the urgency, Nanos noted that Nancy is without her medication and "couldn't walk 50 yards on her own," though her mental acuity remains "sharp as a tack." This has raised fears for her safety, as she may be vulnerable and in need of immediate medical attention.
In a poignant reflection from May 2023, Savannah Guthrie described her mother as "incredibly resilient, like iron or granite," recalling, "We faced tough times when I was young, especially after losing my dad suddenly. My mom showed immense strength, often setting aside her own sorrow to ensure we could all move forward together." She added, "The most precious gift my mother gave me was faith and a belief in God."
As the search continues, Guthrie's plea has gone viral on social media, with hashtags like #BringNancyHome trending. The public is urged to share any information, as authorities work around the clock to solve this disturbing case.
