BREAKING: An 84-year-old woman was violently snatched from her own bed in what authorities are calling a targeted abduction—and she's the mother of 'Today' show superstar Savannah Guthrie.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos delivered chilling news to the public: "This was a forcible removal. We have evidence confirming Nancy Guthrie did not leave voluntarily. Someone took her from her home while she slept."
The nightmare began when Nancy—described as mentally sharp but with severe mobility issues—missed Sunday church services, triggering immediate alarm. Her children, including NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, launched a frantic search before discovering disturbing evidence at her Tucson residence.

Sheriff Nanos revealed investigators found "troubling signs" at the home, now declared an active crime scene. "We believe she was taken against her will during nighttime hours," he stated, adding that Nancy is without her critical daily medication—a situation he warned "could have life-threatening consequences."
In a heartbreaking development, Savannah Guthrie missed Monday's 'Today' broadcast as the family crisis unfolded. Her co-hosts shared her emotional statement: "Our entire focus is on bringing our mother home safely. We're begging anyone with information to come forward."

Authorities emphasize this is NOT a case of dementia-related wandering. "Nancy remains mentally very sharp," Nanos clarified, "but she cannot walk 50 yards alone. This was a criminal act."
URGENT: If you have ANY information about Nancy Guthrie's whereabouts, call 911 immediately or contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department at (520) 351-4900. Every second counts.
