Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Masked Singer season 14, episode 5, "Red, White and Clue Night."
In a star-spangled showdown on The Masked Singer, the competition sizzled with patriotic tunes and a wildcard twist, but the night's biggest shock came when Calla Lily was unmasked. The panelists, zeroing in on celebrities with health battles, were stumped until Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg hit the jackpot.
Under the floral disguise, Teddi Mellencamp emerged—former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, podcast host, and daughter of rock icon John Cougar Mellencamp. In an exclusive chat with TheEntBase, Teddi spilled the beans on her health, her dad's hilarious cluelessness, and how her kids outsmarted the legend himself.

TheEntBase: Your dad recently made headlines for offering a concerning update on your health. What was your reaction to those headlines and can you give us an update on how you are currently feeling?
TEDDI MELLENCAMP: Those headlines took on a life of their own! Right now, I'm cancer-free, but the emotional rollercoaster has been brutal. Surgery and recovery were tough, but the mental toll—dealing with post-traumatic stress—has been the real battle. I'm healing step by step, but it's a journey.
What inspired you to join The Masked Singer?
My kids are obsessed with the show—we binge it together every season. They'd always joke, 'Mom, you should be on there!' So, I decided to pull off the ultimate surprise and make their dreams come true. It was a blast for our whole family.
How did you feel performing on stage?
Terrified! After my surgery, I developed a slight tremor, so I was shaking like a leaf. But I turned that nervous energy into fuel. Stepping out of my comfort zone was scary, but also incredibly freeing and fun.
You performed your father's hit song "Jack & Diane." Did that add extra pressure?
Oh, absolutely! I was more comfortable with "Fight Song" from my first go. Singing Dad's classic? I was sweating bullets, thinking, 'If I get voted off now, he'll never let me hear the end of it!'

Has your dad shared his thoughts on your performance yet?
Not yet—we're watching it together tonight! He knows I sang his song and can't wait to see it. The funny part? My kids guessed it was me from the start, but Dad was totally in the dark. Talk about a generation gap!
You also host the podcast Two T's in a Pod. What has that experience taught you?
It's been a game-changer! Hosting the podcast has taught me the power of raw, honest conversations. Whether it's health struggles or family secrets, sharing stories connects us in ways I never imagined. It's like therapy with a microphone—and a lot of laughs.
