Jamie Foxx has extended a heartfelt welcome to Michael B. Jordan into the elite circle of Oscar winners after Jordan's triumphant victory at the 2026 Academy Awards.

Following Jordan's Best Actor win for his dual role in Ryan Coogler's vampire period drama Sinners, where he paid homage to past Black winners, Foxx took to Instagram with an emotional tribute. "I can barely breathe right now... you were absolutely incredible in this film," Foxx, 58, wrote. "An amazing actor, an amazing director — truly all of the above. Tonight we celebrate you: your talent, your mystique, and your incredible passion for the craft."

Foxx went further, declaring that Jordan "deserve(s) two Oscars for this one," and recounted being captivated from the film's opening moments. "When I sat down to watch the movie, I already knew it was going to be special the moment I saw a pair of Jordans on screen. Then the first line — 'Are you guys twins?' and you hit us with, 'No... we cousins!' — man, I was locked in from there."

"Congratulations, my brother @michaelbjordan. You're operating in rare air right now," the Dreamgirls star concluded. "Celebrate it to the fullest... and trust me, the after-party is going to be crazy."

This tribute came in response to Jordan's own Oscars speech, where he thanked trailblazers like Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, and Will Smith. "I stand here because of the people that came before me," Jordan said. "And to be amongst those giants, amongst those great greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys... Thank you, everybody in this room and everybody at home to support me over my career."

Foxx, who won Best Actor in 2004 for his portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray and was nominated that same year for Collateral, shared additional posts celebrating Jordan's win, including a video of the acceptance speech. "Words can’t express how proud I am of you. You deserve this and so much more. Congratulations my brother," he captioned it.
